Spacetolive creates spaces and places to live as a developer of – and investor in – residential and multi-use projects.

Who are we?

We’re an enterprising, financially independent project developer and investor. Spacetolive has a core team (with managing partners Martin van Grinsven and Hugo Valk) that builds long-term collaborations with a broad range of partners, including municipalities, estate agents, institutional partners, private investors, contractors, consultants, and end users. We’re involved in residential transformation, development/redevelopment, construction, and sales. We have an excellent track record in the Dutch market.

What do we do?

Our primary focus is move-in-ready city centre (or village centre) residential projects that are perfectly aligned with the individual buyer’s needs. Some examples of recent projects include SteekterOever in Alphen aan den Rijn, De Boekerij in Nijverdal, and Amsterdams Buiten in Amsterdam.

Spacetolive also develops larger-scale projects that combine residential and commercial space. These projects are usually geared towards rental and are sold to private or institutional investors.One example is the complex of 168 apartments we are developing at Waterside III in Rotterdam.

Managing partners

Martin van Grinsven

Martin has developed more than 50 real estate projects in and around Amsterdam over the past 10 years. Before founding Spacetolive with Hugo Valk, he worked as an entrepreneur and investor in the logistics industry.

Hugo Valk

Hugo has been working and investing in real estate, FMCG, and logistics since 2000. He founded Spacetolive with Martin van Grinsven to develop residential projects.
